Lyme’s Magic Bullet

Lyme’s Magic Bullet – the Alchemy of Chronic Suffering

Lyme’s “magic bullet” continues to be sold by the various fraudulent alchemists who claim they have discovered the secret.  From such potentially beneficial things as diet and food supplements to the outright quackery of Rife Machines, magnetic therapy, acupuncture, and blood electrification, many claims of a cure for long term (chronic) Lyme disease are made, and there seems to be no end to customers desperate enough to try virtually anything.Lyme's magic bullet

The first problem is, there’s no such thing as Lyme’s magic bullet.   Acute Lyme disease, or in other words, while it is still in the bloodstream, is usually fairly simple to cure.  Usually a three to six week run of an approved antibiotic will cure it completely.

I personally know people who have been cured of acute Lyme disease, and many years later, they are still one hundred percent symptom free.

However, the same is not true for those with confirmed long term Lyme disease.   That is a point we must define, before we go any further.

A diagnosis of long term Lyme disease is not and cannot be made on the basis of scratching everything else off the list, leaving it as the only possibility left.  The human body is exceptionally complex, while the full list of microscopic and infectious pathogens continues to be added to.

Unfortunately, many people I have met have been convinced that they have Lyme disease, when no accurate and professional diagnosis has been made.  I urge you, if you think you might have Lyme disease, to first seek out an LLMP (Lyme Literate Medical Professional).  If you are having trouble finding one, the first place to go is ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society).  They will help you!

The Desperation of Chronic Illness

Desperate people do desperate things.  I FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT!  I would love to discover Lyme’s magic bullet!  At this point in my own life, I am aware that I may have to fight this monster for the rest of my life.  But I refuse to be taken advantage of, to give one nickel, to those who take advantage of very sick people to enrich themselves.

I could go on for hours, telling stories of people who have contacted me with the “thing” that “worked for them.”  Time after time, including in replies to this blog, well-meaning people have contacted me to tell me what has miraculously cured them.  They tell me how they really have discovered Lyme’s magic bullet and are cured!

Then, usually within a year (I cannot remember any that have gone beyond that), that person is again deathly ill.  This has happened to EVERY SINGLE PERSON I HAVE KEPT IN CONTACT WITH WHO HAS CLAIMED TO BE CURED.

I did not set out to write about “Lyme’s magic bullet” to destroy hope, be negative or send anyone into despair.  In fact, quite the opposite is true.

Of all the people I know who have gone through this process, almost all of them have either become very angry or very depressed.

The ones who become angry, having been duped and often drained of a very large amount of money, often will no longer trust even good medical professionals who recognize long term Lyme disease and are really trying to help. That is tragic.  We really do need all the good help we can get.

The ones who become depressed often become so depressed that they give up, and some even take their own lives.  Dr. Murakami, one of the leading experts in the world on the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease, once told me that a leading cause of death among those with long term Lyme disease is suicide.

Quack Lyme Treatments

There are many so-called cures for an array of diseases, including those claiming to be Lyme’s magic bullet.  When people are sick and cannot find relief, they are ripe for the plucking by unscrupulous people.  Unfortunately, they even fool some very well-meaning healthcare professionals.

Another common  claim that was started by these same charlatans is the ongoing claim that the established medical profession, pharmaceutical companies and government have suppressed these “proven” and “effective” “cures” in the name of money.  While we know there is reason (like the IDSA’s continued denial of long term Lyme disease in spite of overwhelming scientific evidence) to be suspicious of these organizations and powers, there is no evidence that any of the quack treatments have been suppressed because they cure ANYTHING.

I will now list a few of the popular quack treatments that so many claim to be Lyme’s magic bullet.  I would also like you to keep in mind, as you read this, that there ARE real, peer-reviewed scientific studies showing that thought can cause the brain to produce powerful chemicals that seem to be able to heal the body of certain ailments under the right conditions.  Such is the power of “sugar pills,” also known as the “placebo effect.

Rife Machines

Rife Machines were originally invented by a man named Raymond Royal Rife, who lived from 1888 to 1971.  No, he wasn’t assassinated by the AMA or any other Deep State medical or pharmaceutical organization!

Rife’s claims are simply physically impossible. He claimed to have built a machine that kills all pathogens, including viruses, by adjusting it to the particular vibration that kills that pathogen.

Rife claimed that he calibrated the machine for each pathogen by first examining the bacteria or virus under a microscope, then adjusting the frequency of his machine until it died.  Apart from the massive problems involved with his so-called therapy if his machine actually caused an antipathogenic vibration, there are other problems that already render his claims impossible:

Rife claimed to have built a microscope capable of examining all known viruses and furthermore, to be capable of examining them while they were active.  The first is completely impossible; the second is still very difficult, even today.

You cannot build a conventional microscope with a high enough magnification to see a virus, which he claims he did so that he could then calibrate his Rife machine.  The problem is light.  It would be impossible to allow enough light through the lens system required in the microscope he claims to have created.

Every piece of glass added filters out more light.  That’s why the high magnification lenses used in wildlife photography are of such a great diameter. If they were not, you could not get enough light to the sensor to create an image without blurring it to the point of being unrecognizable.

Furthermore, the very nature of light, itself, due to its wavelength, would not illuminate anything but the largest known viruses to even make them visible.  That’s why they were not seen until the invention of the electron scanning microscope, long after Rife’s “machine” was invented.

The fact is, Royal Rife was a complete fraud. He was brilliant, but also a fraud.

Magnetic Therapy

Here is another quack treatment, similar to the Rife Machine in its cure-all claims.  It is nothing more than a mixture of Eastern Mysticism (chakras, etc.) and snake-oil.  There is simply NO evidence in science of any kind to support the kinds of claims being made about its success.

When all of the reports of a particular “cure” are the anecdotal reports of “satisfied clients,” rather than peer-reviewed studies, run.  Many people DO experience some kind of apparent improvement, or even an apparent cure, using unscientific, physically and organically useless therapy, but it does not last.  All evidence for the cause of this phenomenon points to the placebo effect.

Ultraviolet (UV) Treatment

Again, the only “evidence” that this works is coming from those who are making a fortune selling it to people who are desperate.  There is, in fact, zero evidence that it really works.  Again, anyone who has truly experienced an improvement or “cure” from this is soon very sick again.

This brings us to the next one, which is sometimes coupled with ultraviolet treatment:

Infused Hydrogen Peroxide Therapy

As you would probably guess, this is intravenously introduced hydrogen peroxide.  The claim is that it will put more oxygen into your blood and thus help white blood cells to destroy “undesirable microorganisms.”

The fact is, your body is very efficient at absorbing oxygen from the air, yet your immune system, of which your white blood cells play a major role, is not successfully making you well if you have long term Lyme disease.  Adding hydrogen peroxide to your blood is dangerous, plus there is absolutely no documented evidence that it helps, at all.

Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy has its uses.  I have personally had ozone therapy, due to problems related to Lyme disease.  However, the therapy was not to cure the Lyme disease, but to help with a problem I was having with oxygen starvation, likely due to what Babesia was doing to my red blood cells.

If it would cure Lyme disease, it should have cured me or at least made a difference, but it did not.  That’s my own anecdote about ozone therapy.  In fact, I have not met one single person who has been cured using ozone therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy or any other form of oxygen therapy.  The only one that shows documented evidence of being helpful is hyperbaric oxygen treatment, but while it helps alleviate certain symptoms, it does not cure Lyme disease.

Blood Electrification

This one would be a real beauty, if it wasn’t so tragic.  This is a multi-layered scam that might make a great Hollywood B movie.  If you do a search on this one, you first find a website called, “Educate Yourself.”  It would be better called,  “Fool Yourself.”

Many of the so-called “proof” links within the text of the various articles go to – wait for it – another page on their own site!

Their claims about the “discovery” of blood electrification in the treatment of AIDS is a classic fraud.  They know that most people, especially those who are suffering from chronic illness, will not follow any links to “sources” that are supposed to offer proof.

In this case, the doctors who are claimed to have made the discovery do not even know each other, and in fact, only the name of one of the doctors listed is on the US patent for the machine that was invented, while the other name listed with the patent is not the man in the claims being made.

In fact, a quick check of the patent shows that it was intended for removing pathogens from blood collected in blood banks.  One variant was an idea to implant a miniature version in a patient’s arm.  There is no indication, anywhere, that the system was ever actually tested on humans, but only on blood in a container in a lab.

One final note about the Educate Yourself website:  They also post anti-Christian articles, as well as articles on how to prevent alien abduction, dowsing, perpetual motion machines, sylphs (fairies) and chemtrails, the repugnant and patently false and anti-Semitic “Protocols of Zion,” and time travel, among many others.  The site is a plethora of evil, hatred, wild conspiracy theories, fraud and outright fiction.  Beware of what you believe!

For a good, candid and involved discussion on blood electrification, Bob Beck et al, see what Dr. Robert Frascino has to say, a man who would surely love it if it really did work!

Final remarks

These are just a few of the many, many things suggested to myself and others as Lyme’s magic bullet.    The truth is, there is no known magic bullet for long term Lyme disease.

The good news is that the research continues.  A lot of good scientific research is being done, often at the personal expense of those doing the research, because the IDSA has dug in and continues to refuse to admit they were and are wrong.

ILADS continues to be a strong, vibrant and highly committed organization.  Its members are often brilliant, very highly educated, and not afraid of intimidation from those who either do not understand or who are unwilling to accept the truth.

Do not believe it if you are told that A or B or cures long term Lyme disease!  Do the research!  Lyme’s magic bullet isn’t here, yet.  But it may be on the horizon.  Never, ever, give up!
